Rifters, we have the next patch for you. This update focuses on overhauling consumables to make rare items more valuable and refining AI behavior – especially addressing situations where enemies felt like they were laser-beaming you from impossible angles. Alongside these changes, we’ve continued improving technical stability and visibility into matchmaking performance.

We’ve also added ping and latency indicators for players. This will help you monitor the connection improvements introduced in the last patch and better understand region selection and overall network performance.

Patch Notes

Consumables Overhaul

Complete rebalance of consumables:

  • Removed the damaging effect of consumables.

  • Uncooked consumables no longer offer a max stamina boost, ex:

    • Raw Dodo meat:

      • Heals 5HP

      • Replenishes 5 satiety

      • Replenishes 25 stamina

    • Grilled Dodo:

      • Heals 5 HP

      • Replenishes 25 satiety

      • Replenishes 100 stamina

      • Increases max stamina by 25 for 900 seconds

  • Most consumables only replenish partial Stamina

  • Healing tonic now heals 2 HP/s over 60 seconds, allowing you to strategically “pre-med” if you know you are about to have a challenging encounter.

AI Changes

  • Perception and sound rebalanced, making it easier to sneak up on Outcasts (beware their pet hyenas can still smell you). Use a crouch walk to sneak upon them.

  • Outcasts now have a harder time detecting you through bushes and in low visibility conditions (including rain and fog).

  • Outcast drops and gear rebalanced:

    • More varied gear equipped.

    • Predefined bullets so they don’t shred armor so easily anymore.

    • Increased healing items.

  • Various small tweaks to make combat with Outcasts more dynamic and feel more dangerous in challenging areas.

    • Easy areas should be easier, beatable with basic gear

    • Medium areas should be relatively challenging – You need to approach carefully and need at least basic armor and gear

    • Hard areas should be challenging – Don’t approach unless you have good gear and good weapons

  • Tree Bug’s armor is significantly weakened.

  • Additional small Outcast patrols were added to expeditions.

  • Outcast gear and difficulty adjusted for Pioneer’s Landing and PvE Expeditions.

  • Adjusted AI accuracy.

Loot Changes

  • Durability of rare and epic armor increased.

  • Decreased durability of some helmets

  • Added pickup spawns for some basic gear around starting locations on Pioneer’s Landing.

  • The cost of shared chests decreased.

  • Fireplace added to Prosperia and Everstead, allowing you to cook food on the spot faster if you are hungry.

  • Increased amount of sticks picked up from beach sticks.

  • Increased drop rates of coconuts from coconut palms.

  • Increased drop rate of ape meat from Bonkey.

  • Raiding enemies now have additional loot drops.

  • Water filters have a new model and new recipes in the crafting station and medical station.

  • Glass bottle replaced with a plastic bottle and now only requires a 1×1 inventory slot.

  • Shotgun ammo stack increased to 48.

  • Added repair stations to both expeditions so you can fix your gear in Expedition when in a pinch.

  • Added recipe for raw hide vest to workbench (more expensive than armor bench variant).

  • Raw hide vest is now unlocked after finishing the Armor Up quest with Wade.

  • Wood is now 1×1 instead of 2×1, helping alleviate limited inventory space concerns, especially for the beginning of the game.

  • Added loot to locked rooms on Locker Island.

  • New icons for some resources and keys.

  • Making signs is now cheaper, so it is easier to organize chests.

UI

  • Added a setting to show/hide the HUD.

  • Locked chests and doors now require hold to unlock to prevent accidental key use.

  • Additional tooltip descriptions for consumables to clearly show healing items’ benefits, ex: Revival kit can remove Heavy Wound status effect.

  • Interaction on the expedition ship should no longer disappear intermittently.

  • New icons for some loot items to better match their 3D representation.d

  • HUD Indicators when you are suffering poor network conditions.

VFX

  • Particle-based creatures (bats, crabs, frogs, rats) are now fully interactive and can be shot and killed.

  • More visual variety of Zip Lines.

  • Added fishes into the expeditions.

Quests

  • Transmitters now require different resources to be fixed.

  • Transmitter reward quests now offer rewards more aligned with specific NPC characters.

  • Removed glass bottles from Vlad quest.

Other Improvements

  • Added support for frame generation for DLSS and FSR.

  • Added support for nVidia Reflex.

  • Added support for framerate limits and defaulting to Auto, which calculates the best limit from monitor refresh rates to provide good frame pacing and best use of variable refresh rate (Freesync/G-Sync/etc).

  • Added ambient music triggering at times on Pioneer’s Landing.

  • Various VFX improvements

  • Various crash and bug fixes.
