LOST RIFT UPDATED EARLY ACCESS ROADMAP


Hello Rifters,

We’d like to share an updated look at what we’re currently working on for Lost Rift during Early Access. Since the last roadmap update, we’ve been gathering feedback, reviewing gameplay data, and adjusting priorities to better focus on core improvements and new features.

Below is an overview of what’s currently in development and what we’ll continue improving over time. As always, your reports through Discord and the Steam forums have already helped us identify and resolve several key issues. That process will continue until Lost Rift feels as stable and immersive as it was meant to be.

Improved character visibility to make combat encounters clearer and fairer.

Safe pocket – for when you find that one thing you needed for your quest and need to extract with it, no matter what.

Storm on Western Island – after intense testing of the feature, we will be bringing it back – watch out for lightning!

Gun modding – A whole weapon customization system, letting you tailor attachments, mods, and tweaks to suit your load-out.

Locker Island Research Building – The barrier blocking this place won’t stay forever – you’ll be able to check out the new point of interest. 

New weapon – Hunter – a new bolt-action rifle to use in your adventures. 

Personal chests – for safe storage.

New NPC survivor – mysterious ally who can join your camp.

Fast travel in Pioneers’ Landing – safely get back to the comfort of your base with a fast travel system that shortens the walk back home.

Unloading ammo out of guns – precious ammo, won’t be wasted on guns you don’t take with you. 

Building menu UX improvements – so you can build your structures more easily. 

Ongoing Updates

The following systems will continue to be adjusted and improved throughout Early Access:

  • Weapons and AI
  • Crafting and economy
  • AI behaviors

This roadmap reflects our current plans and priorities and may change as development continues. Your feedback plays an important role in shaping Lost Rift, and we’ll keep sharing updates as work progresses. We’re also planning a bigger roadmap update so that you can see what we have in store for 2026 – we will drop it sometime in the near future.
